Hey, do you want to learn a new language? We have a WONDERFUL new tool that will help you do just that. Mango Languages is a new link on the Links page that will let you study French, Italian, Hindi, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Urdu, Levantine Arabic, Hebrew, Latin American Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese, Farsi, Korean, Japanese, Pashto, Turkish, Thai, Tagalog, Greek, Irish, Pashto, and Dari.
Please try it out. You will have to call the library so we can verify your library card and tell you what numbers to add so it will recognize you as a Grantham Library card holder. But once you’ve done that you can log in from any computer, and if you establish a profile with Mango (just an e-mail and self-created password to go along with your library card number) then it will keep track of your progress so you can go back in at lesson 3 if that’s how far you got before! However, you don’t have to do it that way if you don’t want to, you can always get in with just your library card number. If you have a microphone on your computer it will show you a graph comparing your pronunciation to the narrator’s!
Want to sell things on E-Bay but just couldn’t take the time to figure it out for yourself? We’re having a presentation on Saturday, March 27th from 9 to 11:30 to tell you all about how to get rid of stuff and make a profit. Sponsored by the Friends of the Dunbar Free Library and light refreshments will be served!
Don’t forget to (re-)read that copy of “To Kill a Mockingbird” that you got from the library or had from childhood, and join us on March 18th for a lively discussion led by Suzanne Brown of Dartmouth.
And now for the new and “NEW to US” items added to the library in the last 2 weeks.
